The Future
Greengrid
In 2008 the Government launched the Parklands Strategy and made £11.2 million available to help create 5 major green infrastructure projects in South Essex. These can be seen on the Parklands page. Currently the Parklands Programme Manager has bids with Eoropean Interreg funds, Heritage Lottery Fund and Veolia Trust funds totalling £3.5 million to carry out the next stage of the Parklands Programme which will focus on improving the South Essex Marshes as a visitor destination, whilst improving its habitats.
